If you need to fill all available GPU slots at your motherboard, to build GPU render workstation and you need some other card (sound, edit…), you already realize that there is one big problem. Modern powerful cards are double slot cards. In air cooled system there is no way to use slot between GPU, or to put two graphics card at adjacent slots (let’s say there is no elegant way…. With extender PCI-e cables you can but it is another story). In case of water cooled system you can do it. But, off course, there is another problem:) You can install water block and get slim card, but there is DVI port at upper row, so you still have double slot card.
This is story about removing that port and finally have real single slot card.
This is pure mechanical operation. All you need is little patience and self-confidence:) (disassembling brand new, expensive graphic card is not everyday job:) I call it haircut & shave method (you will understand why…)
After removing stock cooler… before installing water block…

Start with back/forth moves until you broke 4 back anchor pins. At video I just demonstrate how it looks like, but I do it with booth hands, of course. HERE TAKE ATTENTION! You don’t want to use to much force and, when anchors collapse, scratch and damage card with sharp metal. Use back / forth movement but PUSH METAL TO CONNECTOR SIDE, NOT PULL TO YOURSELF. So, when you break anchor pin, it just stop against connector (there is nothing to damage). Do it easy and you will fill the moment just before break.

HERE TAKE ATTENTION AGAIN!
When you make cut, be sure to find that peace, you don’t want it somewhere on board. Best way is to cut one by one. Then you will be sure that you need to have just one piece.
